WSPA, along with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), set up the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH) so that animal welfare organizations wanting to help the animals of Haiti could work together and take joint action for maximum impact. ARCH now has 19 member organizations acting together in Haiti, and you can follow reports from our joint efforts by visiting WSPA’s Animals in Disasters blog.

Bravo! Latin American nations back animals  
With the exciting news that Bolivia and Nicaragua are supporting a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare, we hope to see enthusiasm for this initiative snowball in the region, marking real change for animals.
Modern Dog Magazine donating half the price of subscriptions to disaster relief  
The world is responding to the disaster in Haiti, and people are coming together to help in any way they can. Our friends at Modern Dog Magazine are donating half the price of US and Canadian subscriptions to WSPA's Disaster Relief Fund. This donation will help the animals of Haiti, and the thousands of other animals that will be affected by disasters to come.
So nearly the last dance  
Despite recent reports that bear dancing has been completely eradicated from India, a lot of work still needs to be done before we can truly celebrate the end of this cruel practice; more bears remain in need of rescue.

WSPA unveils first-ever humane restaurant database  
WSPA unveils an unprecedented database of Humane Restaurants featuring over 150 restaurants in 15 U.S. cities. WSPA aims to help diners find restaurants that serve a variety of humanely raised meat and dairy products and are committed to animal welfare and the environment.








WSPA is the only animal welfare organization to have consultative status with the United Nations and Council of Europe
